A Ten Minute Train Ride From Barrow
Take the train north from Barrow-in-Furness in the direction of Millom and Carlisle and after ten minutes you reach the first stop, Askam-in-Furness, (which is also signposted as Askam and Ireleth), where the Duddon Estuary meets the Irish Sea and famous historically for its Iron and steel industry and its shoe factory, both now sadly gone.
This collection shows some of the archtecture, old and new, coastal scenes and some points of interest in the town.
All these digital paintings were created using original photographs taken by myself as their source.
